New year, new results. Right? Wrong.<\/p>\n

If you focus on results from the start, you\u2019re doomed to fail.<\/p>\n

Instead, I practice The Law of 100:<\/p>\n

A quick backstory.<\/p>\n

A photography class was split into two groups:<\/p>\n

1. Quantity
\n2. Quality<\/p>\n

The quantity group had to take 100 photos. The quality group just had to take ONE <\/em>perfect photo.<\/p>\n

The results?<\/p>\n

The quantity group CRUSHED <\/em>it. Their quality was WAY <\/em>better.<\/p>\n

Here’s why:<\/p>\n

While the quality group became obsessed over trying to take the right photo, the quantity group experimented more, learned from their mistakes, and got better over time.<\/p>\n

Introducing, The Law of 100:<\/p>\n

Start with your first 100 reps of anything and completely ignore the results.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s counterintuitive, I know.<\/p>\n

Here’s how to make it work:<\/p>\n

1. Pick your day of the week<\/h2>\n

Every Wednesday, I send out a newsletter NO MATTER WHAT<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Pick YOUR <\/em>day.<\/p>\n

2. Reduce the friction<\/h2>\n

\ud83c\udf2e If you\u2019re doing YouTube, keep your camera out.
\n\ud83c\udf2e If you’re practicing chess, leave your chess set on the table.
\n\ud83c\udf2e If you\u2019re growing a business, email ONE <\/em>customer.<\/p>\n

Make it easy for yourself to succeed.<\/p>\n

3. Get an accountability buddy<\/h2>\n

Every Sunday for the past 8 years, I email my friend Adam everything I said I\u2019d do last week and everything I say I\u2019ll do this week.<\/p>\n

It holds me accountable and ensures I\u2019m progressing.<\/p>\n

Find someone you respect who will help you on your journey.<\/p>\n

4. Join a community<\/h2>\n

Whatever you\u2019re doing, surround yourself with people trying to do the same.<\/p>\n

Two free ideas:<\/p>\n

1. Join a Facebook group
\n2. Find a local club<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s helpful seeing others failing or succeeding on the same journey as you.<\/p>\n

You won\u2019t feel alone and you\u2019ll know you can do it.<\/p>\n

5. Take a break<\/h2>\n

When I\u2019m feeling out of it, I go for a walk.<\/p>\n

I come back feeling refreshed and ready for the next day.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not feeling great, do the same. It\u2019s okay to rest!<\/p>\n

So long as you don\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n

6. Notice what\u2019s working<\/h2>\n

Seeing the progress you\u2019ve made is an AMAZING <\/em>feeling.<\/p>\n

It also helps you speed up!<\/p>\n

So take a step back, reflect on what\u2019s worked, and do more of that.<\/p>\n

7. Have a clear why<\/h2>\n

If you\u2019re starting a business, remind yourself daily why you\u2019re doing it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get discouraged trying something new. Remembering why it matters is critical.<\/p>\n

8. Make it fun!<\/h2>\n

At the beginning of my podcast, it started feeling like a job. I felt obligated to do it.<\/p>\n

So instead of quitting, I asked: what can I do to make this more fun?<\/p>\n

\n\ud83c\udf2e Change the day of the week<\/p>\n

Bottom line: you should enjoy what you do!<\/p>\n

9. Reward yourself<\/h2>\n

Every Friday, if I\u2019ve accomplished what I needed to, I treat myself to breakfast tacos.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s simple, but I love it.<\/p>\n

The point:<\/p>\n

Give yourself something to look forward to.<\/p>\n

Your consistency should be recognized!<\/em><\/p>\n
